Yes. The Free Sync License covers monetized creator content on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and similar platforms up to 100,000 cumulative views and 12 months, with a credit to the artist and a link to sync.land in your description. Live streams played through the Sync.Land player have their own terms: each broadcast is counted on its own and there is no time limit. Past the cap you have 30 days to buy a Commercial Sync License, which has no view cap, no time limit and no credit requirement.
The Free Sync License costs nothing. A Commercial Sync License is a one-time fee that the artist sets for each track; the default is $49. Sync.Land keeps 30% of the fee and the artist receives 70%. An on-chain record of the license is optional and free while it runs on the Cardano test network (preprod).
You need a free account, because the license is issued in your name. There is no guest checkout. Payment is by card through Stripe, and the PDF license certificate and the MP3 are in your account as soon as checkout finishes. Free Sync licenses go through the same flow with no charge. You do not need a wallet: a Cardano address is asked for only if you add the optional on-chain record.
Music made partly with generative AI is accepted if you say so when you upload it. Music whose audio was produced entirely by a generator is not accepted, because under current copyright law it has no owner and cannot be licensed.
Every track answers one question at upload: Recorded or performed, Partly generated, or Generated. Partly generated tracks are published and labelled, and a license for one covers only the parts people wrote, performed or arranged; the generated material the artist identifies is not licensed and is not warranted. Tracks marked Generated are not published for licensing.
An artist profile, then a WAV or MP3 for each track, cover art, a title and a release date. One track is enough; a release takes up to twenty. Each track needs an ISRC, or a tick to say you do not have one yet, and your answer to how the audio was created. Every file is checked when it is uploaded: a file that cannot be read or has no sound is held back from licensing until you replace it, and you are told why.
